White Knight Chronicles - Guild Rank Quest Overview

In White Knight chronicles there are a series of sub quests known as Guild Rank Quests. These quests can be played in both offline and online mode. The main purpose of these quests is to gain new materials to craft new items/equipment/weapons/accessories to upgrade your "Avatar" (custom character). GR quests can only be done with your Avatar and not with the story characters.

Now each of these GR Quests have certain requirements that must be meet in order to unlock them and play them. There are only 2 main requirements that must be meet in order to play these quests and they are;

1. Unlocked by reaching a certain point in the Story or clearing the Story.
2. You must be a certain Guild Rank in order to play them.

From Guild Rank 1-6 these quests can be obtain by going through the Story mode and obtaining the required Guild Ranks. As for Guild Ranks 7-12 these quests can only be obtained by clearing the game and reaching the required Guild Rank.

To increase your guild rank you must earn GR Points which you obtain by completing GR Quests. Depending on which rank (S to D ranks) you obtain when you clear the quest determines how much GR points you acquire.

Here is a list of the GR points require for each Guild Rank.

About Guild Rank Quests

Guild Rank quests from 1-6 will offer you materials to make items that you mostly obtain throughout the story mode (these quests can be done solo). As for Guild Rank 7-12 quests you will obtain very rare items used to craft items/equipment/weapons/accessories that can only be obtained through the "Item Creation" shops (blacksmith icon on in towns).

Guild Rank Quests 7-12 are more challenging versions of quests 1-6 and require parties of 3-4 members to pass. The walkthroughs for quests 1-6 applies to Quests 7-12. It works like this;

GR1 + GR7 = Same walkthrough
GR2 + GR8 = Same walkthrough
GR3 + GR9 = Same walkthrough
GR 4 + GR10 = Same walkthrough
GR 5 + GR11 = Same walkthrough
GR6 + GR12 = Same walkthrough

As stated above the quests GR 7-12 are where you obtain those rare materials to create new equipment etc of GR7 or higher.

For example Item creation works like this;

Equipment/Weapons that require GR7 are obtain in GR7 Quests
Equipment/Weapons that require GR8 are obtain in GR8 Quests
Equipment/Weapons that require GR9 are obtain in GR9 Quests
and so on...

Walkthrough
- 1st Level Go to C-3: Speak with Alf
- 1st Level Go to A-3: Battle with Fire Dragon (When Dragons HP is low it will run away)
- 1st Level Go to C-3: Speak with Alf
- 1st Level Go to D-3: Take elevator to 2nd level
- 2nd Level Go to D-2: Take elevator to 1st level
- 1st Level Go to D-2: Battle with Fire Dragon
- Note: Before the 2nd battle with the Fire dragon a Lucky Charm of the Fire Dragon (火竜のお守りを) can be obtained to increase mission bonus/rank.

Without Lucky Charm
- 2nd Level Go to E-2: Take elevator to First level
- 1st Level Go to E-1: Battle with 2x Fire Dragons, Quest Clear once both dragons are defeated

With Lucky Charm (Bonus 950pts)
- 2nd Level Go to D-2: Take elevator to First level
- 1st Level Go to D-1: Battle with Fire Dragon, Quest Clear when dragon is defeated

Obtaining a Lucky Charm (Bonus 50pts per mysterious key)
- Defeat Fire lizards & Red Scorpions to obtain a Mysterious Key (Need 3 in total, however you can only hold 1 at a time)
- 2nd Level Go to D-2: Unlock the 2 doors with the key and obtain the Clean Ring. Head back to the First level
- 1st Level Go to C-3: Open the door with the last mysterious key and talk to Dogger and obtain the Lucky Charm of the Fire Dragon (火竜のお守りを)

- Go to B-4: Examine the light to place the spider egg, then battle with a Little Griever
- Go to B-4: Talk with Morris and have him join your party
- Go to E-4: Examine the light to start a battle with another Little Griever
- Go to E-4: Talk with Morris and have him join your party
- Go to C-1: Examine the flower to obtain a Lilly Flower (リリの花)
- Now you have 2 options for the final boss battle

Boss: Little Griever
- Go to D-4: Examine the light to start Boss encounter

Boss: Poison Little Griever (Bonus 500pts)
- Go to D-4: Use the dandelion to reach D-5 and hand over the Lily Flower (リリの花)

Walkthrough
- Go to E-3: Speak with Stewart
- Now you will have to locate the Wind dragon. The dragon gathers at 1 of these five places F-2, C-2, D-5, G-7, I-3. As the boss is a random encounter i advise your party to split up and check 1 of the 5 places each.
- Battle the dragon and it will retreat. Split the party up and check each of the five places again. Repeat until Dragon flees to its den (must be done before 37 minutes have passed or dragon escapes)
- Go to G-4: Defeat Wind Dragon

- Go to E-3: Defeat the Water Spider
At this point you will need to decide if you want to fight 1 or 2 Dragons.

You can also obtain additional Mining Picks by killing Earth Elementals which will help you speed up the process of delivering 10 materials to Gotti.

A brief guide to using GeoNet to get online with other PS3 players around the world.

Getting Online

When you select GeoNet from the main menu (Triangle button) the following options appear;
- Enter GeoNet
- Online Status
- Friends List

So select "Enter GeoNet" to get online. The screen that comes up is the logging into the GeoNet server and then the GeoNet News will appear. Select the ok button and you will see the following;

Creating a Room

Now to create a room select "My Town" (you can also do this on other players GeoNet Page). On the My town page you can pick which slot you want to create the room on. So pick a slot and a new window will appear and you can pick from the selection below;

Creating a Room Menu
- Shield Icon = Welcome Beginners
- Holding Sword Icon = Lets go together
- Flex Icon = Stronger Quests
- Speach Bubble Icon = Relaxed Played
- 2 people Icon = Friend recruiting
- 2 Swords Icon = Level Up
- Pen Icon = Create Room Name

Note: If you wish to create your own room name. Then Select the Pen icon and enter in the name of the room. Add a password if you want then select create.

Inside your GeoNet Room

Once in the room you will notice you have 2 shops available. 1 is the item shop so you can replenish your consumables (healing potions etc) and a Weapon shop so you can repair and upgrade your equipment without needing to leave the room. There are also 2 soldiers, the 1 next to the gate is used to exit the room. The other soldier that stands next to the Quest board gives you the following options;

Soldier at Quest board options
- Create a Quest
- Join a Quest
- Cancel (exit back to Room)

Creating a Quest

Speak with the soldier next to the Quest Board and select the first option (create a quest). The world map will open up so select which quest you want and a new menu will appear;

- No. of Players (1-4)
- Public (なしNo/ありYes)
- Time Limit till start (1-10 minutes)
- Password (なしNo/ありYes)
- Blank bar to input password if selected Yes.
- Start

Understanding Public & Private
Public Room: Any player online can join your quest and sometimes you may join theirs.
Private Room: Only those players that are in your room may join your quest.

Note: If you choose to make the room public then you will auto join an already created quest if there is a spot available or you will end up hosting the quest and random online players will join that quest (Just like if you were to select an online quest from the world map instead of using GeoNet). After the quest is finished you will return to your room, the random players there were in that quest with you will return to their rooms or world map. Friends in your room may also join in on that public quest if a spot is available (they will need to quickly join incase the spot fills up)

Joining a Quest

Now if you wish to join a quest that someone in the room with you has created then go to the soldier at the Quest board and select the second option. A window will open up that will show a list of quests created in your room. If it is empty just keep pressing the select button to refresh the window until that players quest appears. Then select that quest to join it.

Exiting the Room

Once you have finished questing and its time to call it a day. Select the soldier next to the gate and select yes to leave. You will be taken back to your GeoNet page (unless a PSN error appears and your taken to the world map). Press triangle and select Yes to leave the GeoNet and go back to the world map.
